Mandy, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

My Late New Year's Resolutions

Better late than not at all, though I think a vast majority usually find it hard to fulfill theirs leading only to disappoint and a sense of failure... but oh well, here they are ^_^.

  • Get a job (this one is number 1 on my list, b/c I'm getting to the point that the Navy is starting to sound good)

  • Send "Passage" to a Publisher

  • Finish "Order"

  • Participate in NaNoEdMo

  • Participate in the July NaNoWrimo

  • Participate in NaNoWrimo

  • Be sitting on four complete Novels by the end of the year

  • Keep up with my German (read books, write, speak... just to stay fresh)

  • Practice some more with Dreamweaver and InDesign to stay fresh

  • Get rid of some junk

  • Tie up loose ends on Fanfiction.net

  • Continue practicing with Art

  • Exercise

  • Eat better and take vitamins

  • Prepare for the admittance test for Graduate School

  • Find a Church

  • Get to my reading pile... which is just plain huge

It's a long list, but right now, I just feel like I need to get productive or I will just flounder. Just kinda been spinning my wheels as it is and main I feel like 2009 was a waste for the second half.

To NanoWrimo or not to NanoWrimo

Revisions are moving along smoothly after I got passed the beast that was Chapter Six. With things going so well, I'm hoping to have the first wave of revisions complete by the end of this month if not early November. The second wave will occur in November after I hand out copies to a few trusted friends. December or January will be the months that I send the manuscript off to the publisher (crosses fingers). In the meanwhile, I have been drawing layouts for some of the buildings in my books... though I still have to tackle the biggest yet.

Since I will be fairly open in November, I'm considering participating in NanoWrimo for the first time. It would be a good chance to begin to write the second book in my series by putting me on a timeline. I figure with that timeline I would at least be able to finish half of it as the entire book will be more than the required 50,000 words. However, I'm still undecided, though leaning toward the "what the hey" angle and going with it.

Progress on Revisions

I have been working on revisions of "Passage," though my attempts have been slowed by some type of ailment. Luckily, whatever took me down seems to be passing, though the cough still remains. Currently, I'm working on revisions to Chapter Four.

Revisions Underway

Well, today I started the electronic revisions to my novel, trying to fill in blanks I had left in place of character names. I'm also adding stuff that I know needs to be added. I hope to have this process done within a matter of weeks, so I can get hard copies out to my readers. So far, I have the prelude complete, and I'm now turning to chapter one.

I have a sliver of hope that I will be able to send it to a publisher before this year is out, but it will just depend on my revisions and how fast my readers go.

Another Novel Done!!!

I finally completed "Passage." I'm so excited about it and I can't wait to get to my electronic revisions before I get into the serious paper edits. Right now to celebrate, I have begun work on the genealogy and timeline (as it is irrevocable tied to the genealogy)for my novel X_X. I hate math, I hate it so badly, but I will put up with it just to complete the genealogy, etc. I am, however, really looking forward to reading my entire novel in one sitting; I've only really had a disjointed one so far.

Well, I have work to do, though I hate to do it will the aroma of pig shit in the air... Thanks ALOT neighbor for spreading it on your fields!

Cheers all!
